Lisa was lighting the last candle when he walked in.
Chris looked at her and before he could get the door closed all the way, she
was on him. Her lips touching his, her arms around his neck. Her eyes were
already burning with tears. Tears of sadness, of love, of joy, all mixed
together. She was so happy to see him, to be with him, but she knew this was
their last night together. She hated to tell him, but it was something neither
one could control.
~If you leave
me now
Telling me you
failed somehow
Better think
it all over
Just as long
as love's around
Here's a true
romance
Tomorrow I'm
gonna leave you
But
I am here for you tonight~
Chris lifted her up in his arms, his lips leaving hers
for just a split second to pick her up. He wanted to carry her away, take her
away from all of her pain, take his own pain away, but they both knew it was
never meant to be. She was married and so was he. He loved her. He knew it
every part of him.
~Every single
day I want you to know
My love is
true
So
baby let me show you what to do~
He laid her on the bed and kissed her again, pulling the
straps down on her negligee. As he pulled it down, exposing more and more of
her beautiful olive skin, he softly kissed down her body. When it was gone, he
lifted up and pulled his shirt off, then leaned back down to kiss her again,
loving the feel of her skin on his. She wrapped her arms around him, kissing
him desperately, wanting him more than she ever had before.
~Just a little
bit more love
Just a little

This is how it

Skin on skin~
She clung to him, wanting, needing to get the feeling of
his skin burned into hers, the feel of his soft lips kissing hers. This was a
night she never wanted to forget. She tried not to cry and tried to push the
pain away. She loved him so much. She wanted to blurt it out, but knew that
wouldn’t accomplish anything except more pain, more anguish, and didn’t want to
hurt him anymore than she knew she already had to.
~Just a little
getting close
Just a little
more affection
Cause I don't
think it's a sin
Skin on skin~
She flipped him on his back and held his hands down on
either side of his head, looking down at him. He smiled softly up at her. She
matched his smile and kissed him again, willing his mouth to open so she could
taste him one last time. His lips parted and she invaded his mouth. She started
sobbing into his mouth. She wanted it to stop, she tried to force it to stop,
but it didn’t. He broke the kiss and lifted her face so he could look at her.
He slowly shook his head and wiped the tears off her cheeks. He turned her back
over on her back and kissed her, running his hand up her thigh to her
midsection and cupped a breast. She inhaled a deep breath through her nose,
loving the feel of his hands on her.
~Don't you
know that this game is to play
Just as long
as it's time
Can't you see
that my heart's gotta know
When
you're gonna be mine~
Chris lifted up and rid himself of the rest of his
clothes and his shoes, then went back to her. He kissed her and pulled her
panties off and into the floor. He covered her with his body, settling between
her open thighs. She brought his face down to hers so she could kiss him. He
continued kissing her as he slowly entered her. She whimpered softly and let
her body go limp. The feel of him inside her, with his lips on her, their limbs
entwined was something she never wanted to forget.
~Just a little
more love
Just
a little more love~
He slowly started moving, breaking the kiss to move down
her neck into the hallow of her throat. He kissed back up her neck, under her
chin and recaptured her lips. She put her hands in his hair, running her
fingers in his silky blonde waves. She knew she would miss him more than she
would anything or anyone else she’s ever encountered in her life.
~So we better
get it on
What is here
will soon be gone
When the
leaves are falling
Then
maybe we could fall apart~
He started moving faster, and then slowed down again. He
wanted this to last. It’d been so long since they were able to meet and he
wanted this time to be different. He had made a decision he was going to tell
her about later on, but he didn’t want to rush this.
~And there may
come a time
When you will
forget
My love is
true
So baby let me
show you what to do~
Lisa relaxed under him and let the pleasure overpower the
pain of her heartbreak. Everytime his lips left hers, a little bit more of her
heart shattered. She wanted to kiss him until she died. She arched to him,
digging her nails into his back. She could remember every second about their
first time and she wanted to get this – their last time, ingrained into her
memory as well. Chris felt her tighten around him and soon spilled into her. He
kissed her deeply and lay there on top of her, not exiting, not moving, just
looking down at her reddened face, smiling and softly kissing her. He felt
himself soften and unwillingly exited her, rolling on his back with a soft
smile. He opened his arms, knowing what was coming next. She would cuddle into
him and lay her head on his chest.
To his surprise, she didn’t. She got up and went into the
bathroom. He sat up, confused.
“Lisa?”
“I’ll be out in a minute,” she called back.
Chris lay back down and waited. Lisa stared at herself in
the mirror in the bathroom and inhaled a deep breath. She was going to hate
doing this, but she had to. She walked out of the bathroom and put a robe on.
Chris looked at her confused. “Why are you hiding yourself
from me?”
Lisa looked away. “Chris, we need to talk.”
“Yes, we do,” Chris said. “Lisa, I’m leaving her.”
Lisa looked at him shocked. “What?”
“You heard me,” Chris said. “I can’t take it anymore.”
Lisa shook her head. “You can’t leave Trish.”
“Um, come again?” Chris asked.
Lisa looked back at him. “We have to stop doing this.”
“You know that’s not going to happen.”
“It has to.”
“We’ve tried that before, baby.”
“This time it’s different.”
“No it’s not.” He shook his head. “It will never be any
different.”
“This time it is,” she said strongly.
“What makes this time different?”
“Because this time I’m pregnant.”
Chris’s eyes widened and he looked at her stunned, unable
to speak. Lisa looked away, letting the news sink in. A few minutes passed and
Chris gulped, still staring at her.
“Who’s is it?”
Lisa looked back at him. “It’s yours.”
Chris felt the wind get knocked out of him in shock. “Are
you sure?”
Lisa nodded. “I’m very sure.”
“Then, then, then,” Chris stuttered, not really sure of
what he wanted to say.
“Don’t get emotional about this,” Lisa said. “Adam knows
and he thinks it’s his.”
“What?” Chris asked, getting up out of bed.
“And I’m not going to tell him otherwise,” Lisa said.
Chris sat back down on the bed stunned. “I don’t
understand.”
“I can’t do that to him.”
“But you can do this to me?” he asked.
“You have a wife.”
“I don’t see what she has to do with this.”
“Stay with her. Let her have your kids. I can’t do this
to my husband. I won’t. I’m not leaving him.”
“This is bullshit,” Chris said. “You’re carrying my kid
and you’re going to let your husband think it’s his?”
Lisa gulped. “It’s just better for everyone this way.”
“It’s better for you this way,” he retorted. “Because you
don’t have the guts to tell him the truth and tell yourself how you really
feel.”
“How do you know how I feel?” Lisa asked.
“I can see it in your eyes when you look at me.”
Lisa looked away. “It doesn’t matter. There’s more at
stake now than just my marriage. I have to think about my baby.”
“*Our* baby,” he corrected.
Lisa looked back at him. “Chris, please.”
“This isn’t right, Lisa,” Chris said.
“None of this is right.”
Chris looked away, not knowing how to respond to that.
She went on. “We’re married to different people, sleeping
with each other, stealing nights and sneaking phone calls and lying to our
spouses… Chris, I can’t keep doing this.”
“You can’t do this either,” Chris said. “That’s my baby,
not his.”
“He’ll never know that,” Lisa said.
“So you’ve made your decision,” Chris said.
Lisa nodded. “Yes, I have.”
Chris shook his head. “This isn’t right.”
“Please, Chris, just go,” Lisa said.
Chris looked at her sadly. “Please don’t do this.”
I can’t hurt Adam,” Lisa said.
“But you can hurt me?”
“He’s my husband,” Lisa said.
“Are you still sleeping with him?” Chris asked.
“Are you still sleeping with Trish?”
Chris looked away, not answering.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” Lisa said. “Just go.”
“Fine, I’ll go,” Chris said and quickly pulled his jeans
on. He gathered his things and on his way out the door, he said, “But this
isn’t over. It’s far from over.”
Lisa closed the door behind him and leaned on it. She
touched her abdomen and burst into tears. She knew in her heart she was doing
the right thing – for her and her baby, or was she?
